futuretense: Pollyfromthedirt + Splitting Edges
Southbank Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer, SE1 8XX , [Venue Details]Pair Pollyfromthedirt’s distinctive Northern Droll and Splitting Edges’ eclectic indie-rock blend in this electric gig.
Darlington-born artist Pollyfromthedirt brings his distinctive, homegrown Northern Droll to futuretense. One of the most intriguing new voices to emerge from England’s suburbs, Pollyfromthedirt engineers, mixes, and masters everything himself, crafting a tactile, nocturnal sound that’s jagged, lo-fi, and alive with movement.
Now based in Manchester, Pollyfromthedirt takes his name from his mum, Polly, and his hometown’s affectionate nickname, The Dirt. That northern pragmatism and dry humour thread through his work: songs that take aim at British culture while reflecting suburban life with affection, irony, and bite.
Splitting Edges was founded in 2019 by singer-songwriter Lydon Peacock and drummer Bradley Osborn. Two music lovers, they found their lead guitarist in Nathan Cannon. A spark was ignited, and the buzz surged across the capital’s gig circuit. Devoted to performance, the group produced electric sets that positioned them at the centre of a post-pandemic live renaissance.
The group’s sound tastefully fuses their eclectic influences in a blend of rock vocals, contagious indie melodies, jazz rhythms, and captivating fast-paced flows.
